The Red on a Painted Turtle for Ruby Tuesday
To check out other Ruby Tuesday postings, just click HERE, or click on the Ruby on the side bar. My appreciative thanks to Mary/the teach for hosting this site
The reds and yellow are nearly iridescent or day-glo. Stunningly detailed and, if it could be said of a turtle, striking. Stylish if plodding, and happily not camouflaged!
These are wonderful! I didn't expect the color at all. What a beauty! I love the middle photo... but it's a close call between that and the first one for my favorite.
Terrific photos, great to have such detail. Love the middle one - is it me or does he looks a little high centered? That happened to me once in my old Dodge Shadow when I foolishly went a little bit off-road with it. I'm sure turtles are much smarter about such things.
I love this turtle. If I were to have a pet I would want it to be a turtule! This one is very handsome! Happy Ruby Tuesday, Ann!
ReplyDeleteFun angles on the turtle. I like the one where he's half in the water, half out. Nature makes such pretty turtles!
ReplyDeleteLove the turtle. Now I read that claws in front mean a male and claws in the back mean a female..So it looks like a male?
ReplyDeleteOhh...love it. What great color on this guy.
ReplyDeleteI see lots of these turtles, but never this closeup. Great colours. No wonder they are called Painted Turtles.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! that is very cool. I really like these shots of the turtle...
ReplyDeleteLove them hanging out on logs - especially when they are stacking! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots!
Cheers, Klaus

Cute! He looks like he's hanging on for dear life.
ReplyDeleteThis is the reddiest painted turtle I've ever seen. Cool!
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious why this creature got the name Painted Turtle. I didn't realize they had so much red trim. Great photos for Ruby Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painted turtle! You really captured the red in the first shot. I put up my first Ruby Tuesday this week.
ReplyDeleteThese are great images of the turtle. The red is a real surprise.

ReplyDeleteWell again we learn something: I didn´t even know there existed turtles coloured this way... it has an almost dangerous look!
ReplyDeleteGreat pics and super colours. Great subject for Ruby Tuesday :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice they are too. Mike.

ReplyDeleteGreat shots and fully explains the "painted" in turtle.
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful painted turtle! I have never seen one quite this red. I wonder what it has been eating? Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shots!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, nice. I've never gotten a photo that showed the red so clearly.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful creature! Beautiful pictures!
