Yellow-rumped Warbler: for Ruby Tuesday

Its really quite late to see a little warbler but I wasn't really surprised to see this one; a Yellow-rumped Warbler flitting about among our High Bush Cranberry tree. Its often at this time of year when one has appeared almost every fall for the past few years so I have been waiting for one to turn up. I just caught a glimpse of it this morning, outside my kitchen window, perching momentarily on our truck, just long enough for me to see it flash its signature marking, its yellow rump! Later in the day it cooperated with me for a photo shoot among the beautiful red cranberries; just perfect I thought for Ruby Tuesday!
Welcome little warbler!

  8. The warbler has extended its wings and legs for landing. An airplane looks so similar as it looks like the flaps and landing gear are down for landing. I know, the plane has to follow nature's ways...

The bird picture is hard to top!

  9. My goodness, how fortunate you are to always get such marvelous photos. Beautiful little bird. Must be they don't go South for the winter?

  10. I had to look up my English/Norwegian glossary for warbler. It was only translated with singing-bird.
It sure must have a name??
The pics were wonderful, not by good luck, but by skill, I think.

Such sweet little birds! A fellow birdwatcher back in Alberta told me they are his little kids' favorites, and they call them "butter butts" Too cute!
