Evening Primroses for melllow Yellow Monday
While out driving yesterday we drove past this clump of unusual shaped of Evening Primroses growing in a shallow ditch beside a church at crossroads near Dipper Harbour and Mace's Bay. The first glimpse I saw of them reminded me of windmills on a stick that we used to play with as kids. I asked my husband to turn and go back and when he asked "What are we looking for I replied, "flowers that look like windmills", and when we got back to the location and he saw them he knew what I had meant. I hope you can see the similarity also.

Those are very pretty. They do resemble windmills. Helen
ReplyDeleteThey do look like that. And so very pretty. I don't think I've ever seen any quite like them.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice buttery (and mellow) yellow in those windmills!
ReplyDeleteYep very mellow and yellow, very nice.
ReplyDeleteNeat! I just love when things remind me of yesteryear..fun to remember back then..windmills. cool!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty...they look like a crown of yellow flowers sitting on the plant's head :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you all for you comments. They are much appreciated.

Your second picture does remind one of a windmill or pinwheel. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI also commented on a few other posts below.
I couldn't help notice you have 63 covered bridges in New Brunswick. Here in Kentucky we have 13 left. I've photographed some of them before with a different camera but I want to start all over so as to capture them with my new one.
I didn't know what primrose looks like. It's great when you find something unexpected. Thanks for sharing that Ann....Michelle
