An Almost Full Moon for Skywatch Friday

I awoke early this morning in hopes of seeing the full moon, but the wind and rain has dashed all of my hopes of that. So I have to rely on this picture of the moon at 99.3% full that I took yesterday morning. I got the 99.3% information from the weather website yesterday morning.. This is the Crow full moon. So named Named apparently for the often heard cawing of crows at this time of year, at the approaching end of winter( yea!!!!) or some may call it the sap moon, characterizing the time of year when maple trees are tapped for their sweet sap which is changed into a most tasty sugar (maple sugar) As a diabetic I do not allow myself a taste of this marvelous treat anymore.

My thanks to the hosts of Skywatch Fridayhttp://skyley.blogspot.com/ for continuing to host this very popular Friday skywatch meme. If you would like to post your own photos or just enjoy looking to see the photographic offerings of others, please scroll down this page and look upon the righ hand side to click on the skywatch logo to go to the meme. A happy Friday to all.

  6. I love moon shots Ann, and am always trying new techniques. Yours is excellant!
I do like all the different phase names for the moon too. Never heard of sap moon, but if surely fits. I too am diabetic, but I don't miss maple anything since I don't like it. When the kids were little we did make maple syrup from our own trees on my kitchen stove just once. What a mess. The next year we made it outdoors on a little gas stove.
    So much better
