  1. I love this turtle. If I were to have a pet I would want it to be a turtule! This one is very handsome! Happy Ruby Tuesday, Ann!

  2. Fun angles on the turtle. I like the one where he's half in the water, half out. Nature makes such pretty turtles!

  3. Love the turtle. Now I read that claws in front mean a male and claws in the back mean a female..So it looks like a male?

  5. I see lots of these turtles, but never this closeup. Great colours. No wonder they are called Painted Turtles.

  7. Love them hanging out on logs - especially when they are stacking! :)

  8. The reds and yellow are nearly iridescent or day-glo. Stunningly detailed and, if it could be said of a turtle, striking. Stylish if plodding, and happily not camouflaged!

It's obvious why this creature got the name Painted Turtle. I didn't realize they had so much red trim. Great photos for Ruby Tuesday.

Beautiful painted turtle! You really captured the red in the first shot. I put up my first Ruby Tuesday this week.

  15. These are wonderful! I didn't expect the color at all. What a beauty! I love the middle photo... but it's a close call between that and the first one for my favorite.

  16. Well again we learn something: I didn´t even know there existed turtles coloured this way... it has an almost dangerous look!

Terrific photos, great to have such detail. Love the middle one - is it me or does he looks a little high centered? That happened to me once in my old Dodge Shadow when I foolishly went a little bit off-road with it. I'm sure turtles are much smarter about such things.
