Water Reflections: for Ruby Tuesday

While out walking this morning I chanced to see two female Common Mergansers in the river. While taking their pictures I was wondering to myself if their reddish heads might qualify as a red for a Ruby Tuesday post, for I didn't have anything else in mind for today's posting. However, the qualifying, or not, issue, flew from my head as I downloaded my photos and saw the beautiful red reflections in the water from the colourful autumn leaves on the trees which lined the shore.

  1. Looks ruby to me! What lovely reflections! I imagine really seeing the ducks float around in those reflections was pretty neat.

  2. Plenty of red for me. I like the reflections, as that is what I used in my RT. Have a great Ruby Tuesday.

  3. Oh, I absolutely love the water reflections! I took some photos of water yesterday, and it was hard to get something with which I was happy. Not enough differentiation in my water compositions. Anyway, love your mergansers, they look great in the reddish water.

  4. Isn't autumn a great season for all shades of red.
Mighty impressive that you caught the colors of fall in the water.
The birds are unfamiliar to me, but as you put it, red enough. A splash!

Mergansers are red enough for me, but that water reflection is really nice, too! Looks like you caught one of the ladies either just finishing or just starting to periscope below the sruface.

  22. I think common Mergansers are the most elegant ducks, especially when the "men" in their full breeding plumage accompany their "lady". I love the fall colours in your pictures.
