Yesterday, while selecting an old post to be recycled as a bird feeder pole, my husband called me to see the spider that he found crawling 
on it. Can you see its eyes? I wonder if it was in search of a place to lay eggs for it looks very full and round.
I am not sure of its name but while doing an image google search I found some that looked similar to this one that were labeled as European Garden Spiders? I am not sure if this is one of not?

ReplyDeleteThis is a very interesting little spider. Such camoflauge markings too, and so plump. Great shots of it. Most spiders don't hang around very long for too many pictures.

ReplyDeleteSpectacular photo and stunning spider. I've never seen one myself, but I think it is a marbled orb weaver. The pattern on the back can be variable. She is the prettiest one I've seen a picture of-very ornate. I think they are most common in the northern US and southern Canada, but I could be wrong on that.

That's a fatty! I think it's a Marbled Orb Weaver. Great set of photos over the last days - I have a hard time keeping up...too much good stuff going around! :)

That is a very fat spider! It reminds me of a crab in a fancy shell! Wow! It's very beautiful!
