Rows of Birds
When visiting Gina's Space this morning I noticed she had posted some very interesting photos of a thematic series of pictures on things in rows. It looked like fun and sent me scurrying into my photo archives to find some of my own. Here are a few of my favourite bird photos that I found fitting within this week's theme, rows. If you want to join in on this weekly thematic photographic meme you can find it by clicking on its higlighted name.
These first two photos are a couple of my favourite bird family 'row' photos; above a family of Common Mergansers and secondly a family of Canada Geese.
Perched on rocks off Sunset Beach at Marathon in the Florida Keys, is this row of Brown Pelicans.
Two rows in one, Herring Gulls on a row of posts.
A very common sight in our feeder area in the winter, Mourning Doves lined up on the railing of our garden bridge.
And here a double row of female Common Mergansers closing up the ranks.
Bye, bye Coromorants, hello Snowbirds!

these are great!! i especially like the canadian geese...don't think i've ever seen them lined up like that. and the pelicans at sunset...wonderful! all of them are good. :)
Glad that I had visited you early and found your lovely rows! The geese are my favourite; I don't think they could have done a better job lining up for my camera :-)
Well, things are pretty messy over here at my place, but I can see you have all your ducks in a row!
Great shots!
I love your rows! I can't think of anything cuter than rows of baby ducks and the geese are lined up nicely, too....love the rows of gulls and the pelicans and all those cormorants! Each a perfect example for "rows"! You discover the most interesting photo opportunities :-)

Actually my ducks might be in a row, but they are just a front for I really did not have the time to post this morning, but... oh well... flutter and clutter, another theme of my day :-)

Oops, I had removed my Cormorants but they flew back into the post after reading of their mention in your comment. I must drop in to see your M today!
This is my first visit to your blog. I love all those nature shots. I visit Gina's blog a lot and love her photos. Helen

I just love these. I often see rows of birds in a row on the wires above, but it is usually when I am stuck in moving traffic and can't stop.
Oh how cool those photos are!! I love the mergansers.
I love these "rows." They are fantastic!
Wonderful! Rows in nature. Great photos, and great idea for Carmi's newest theme. I've been photographing foliage, but none of it lines up in a row.
I think the shots are great. What I think is even more great is that you had so many of these "in a row" shots. Awesome! :-)
Some pretty fantastic shots.
Fantastic row photos ! It's also fun for me to see what species you can observe, what species we have in common, ... What are the Snowbirds ?
Your row pictures are perfect for Carmi's theme. I love pelicans!
Wonderful photography. Just a note about a comment you left on my blog about Waxwings and Wigeon. Over here the ones we get are a different species. We call the American ones Cedar waxing and American wigeon. Bohemian Waxwings that we see are usually of Russian origin. I'm still waiting for some good light to get a better shot.
I can't believe that 2nd photo! Enjoying your photos with the theme. My first time here!
Nice of them to line up so neatly for you!
Wow! What patience you must have! Just waiting and looking....and waiting and looking!
Good for you!
This looks like a fun theme Ann and all the bird photos are great, but I love the first one...
I especially like that last photo of the birds on the wire against the sky.
Your photos are a joy to behold:)
I love it! Great series of images.
