One of my fave Hopkins poems, and a quote well-suited to this wonderful photo. Also love the "mirror" speckles - light ones on the dark bird; dark seeds on the snow. Your photo is visual poetry!!
Yes i agree with Deborah..i noticed first the mirror effect with the speckles from the seeds and the on the starling...very cool photo..thanks
Sitting there in the seeds makes him look like his spots are coming off on the snow. A nice blending effect :-) I like his pose with the beak up. I usually think they are rather ugly, but this photo makes it look as pretty as any other bird.

It's the little things that count.
This is such a lovely photo. Starlings weren't my most favorite of birds but this photo makes him look very beautiful
I'm wondering where all the starlings have gone. I haven't seen any is a long time.
