Open Water: for Watery Wednesday

This scene totally mystifies me for despite the very cold, freezing temperatures we have had this month, this portion of running water remains unfrozen in the stream.

The theme of Watery Wednesday is water, and for a wonderful variety of watery scenes just click on its name! Thanks to 2sweetnsaxy for hosting this site.

Well, it makes for a very pretty scene. I wonder what keeps it running free?

Very beatiful with the blue shadows!
I guess the little creek runs free because it hasn't been cold enough long enough! In my world it is all frozen!

A mystery, but a beautiful view! I'm sure the animals appreciate that it is open.

The water must be flowing very strongly in order to keep it open! I love the way the shadows in the snow on the right hand bank seem to echo the blue of the water itself! Makes me want to walk into the bush and see where it goes!
Thanks for sharing!

Must have a good running deep current to it. It's very beautiful and quite scenic.
