Magnolia Warbler

Isn't he just so handsome! As I was taking photos of this warbler, after having encouraged it to show itself with my 'pishing", I was thinking, "a lifer" for me, but at the same time the name Magnolia Warbler was fainting pushing the boundaries of my memory. I realized I had seen this warbler species once before, but I hadn't gotten any pictures of it, and without pictures I often second guess my observations when checking out field guides later. This little bird was very busy flying from branch to branch and for a while I wasn't sure I would be able to get its photo at this sighting either... but patience finally won out.

This is a male Magnolia Warbler.

Congratulations! Those are wonderful pictures! Warblers all seem to be such pretty little birds. How fortunate you are to see them and get such good pictures. Patience did indeed pay off. It's really beautiful.

What a cute and colorful little warbler -- that black really sets off the yellow.

Beautiful shots Ann. I have only seen them and never gotten any photos. I believe it was before I got my cameras.

Wow! You really got spectacular shots of the warbler. I've never seen one. I can't even get a good shot of the mynah. Sheesh!

He's very handsome, and your photography is wonderful. I was wondering what kind of camera you use, and if you use anything like Photoshop. Of course, I know that those only help, first you have to do the composing and have the eye for the shot. I'll bet that you view the world as beautiful, and are constantly seeing photo opportunities that others miss.

How fortunate to get such a good shot in the summer when the leaves are large. Warblers tend to flit around so much. I have many blurry pictures. I have never seen a Magnolia Warbler...very smart looking bird.

I mainly use two cameras; a canon 20D or a canon rebel; and in most cases I use either a 100-400 IS zoom lens or a canon macro lens. I use photoshop when cropping is necessary, and also at times if I have make a few adjustments to lighten or darken.

I enjoy nature and photography and before retirement seldom had the time to watch and listen, and appreciate. And, yes, I do find the world beautiful and every creature in it fascinating and I am totally inspired by all the beautiful colours and designs I find.

Thank you for your comment, it is much appreciated; glad that you enjoy my photos.

Well done for spotting the Mag Warbler, and for being successful in 'phishing'. It's never worked for me (wrong accent?)

It must be the accent :-) I was getting desperate for it to appear again as the first glimpse I had gotten of it was so tantalizing. I was just about ready to utter anything if it didn't show up again soon.
