Wonderful close-up; what a beauty. I love Flickers, but just can't seem to keep the genders and shaft colors - who goes with what - in my head. When I lived in thw West we had both, I was forever looking them up! So far, in Ontario I haven't seen any Reds. Think that would be rare.

Such a beautiful bird and I think they are even more striking in flight.

Wonderful photo Ann. This was the first year that a flicker came to the suet dough feeder. I was very excited.

That is beautiful! I love Flickers and wish I would see some here. All woodpeckers are so stunning in their color.
