Resting Bee: One Single Impression

honey harvester
with pollen laden baskets
takes a well earned rest
.
While walking around my garden in the mornings I often find many bees inactive, just resting upon the blossoms. This one featured above has closed wings and its legs are hanging down as if it were all tuckered out! In the previous post you can see pollen baskets which are used by the bees to store the pollen and nectar that they gather.
.
This haiku was created in response to the word, 'rest', which is this week's prompt at One Single Impression. For more poetry on this theme please visit the hosting site by clicking HERE.

Great catch. Can you change that old saying to" Leave a sleeping Bee lie" LOL

I never saw a bee at rest. It's beautiful to see this one at rest in his work, too. If we could all know such peace. Thanks for this.

"well earned rest" indeed! And just look at that body language, s/he (are bumblebees all female, too?) is a tired-looking bee.

I don't know about all bee species but I have read that, 'yes', the workers are female and they are the ones who do all the gathering. Glad that you enjoyed and thank you for your comment.
