BeltedKingfisher against the blue sky for Skywatch Friday

This was a lucky photo day when standing by the edge of a pond looking for a Great Blue Heron that had quickly disappeared at my approach an often elusive Belted Kingfisher landed on a branch nearby and I was there to capture this contribution for Skywatch Friday.

My appreciative thanks to Sandy, Klaus, Ivar, Wren and Fishing Guy for hosting Sky Watch
Friday .

Around here I often hear them more than see them bacause of the trees, but they occasionally swoop low. Great shot!

Wonderful shots of this interesting and colorful bird. I'm totally unfamiliar with this little critter, but this would make a wonderful Camera Critters post ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
