yellow in my garden for mellow yellow Monday

Early this morning, before breakfast, but after coffee, I decided to walk around my dooryard in the dew drenched grass wearing my favourite
yellow and blue-green rubber boots with my camera taking pictures of yellow blossoms in my yard. They weren't hard to find for we have two very invasive yellow blooming species: yellow loosestrife and sundrops: They are everywhere! and each summer I pull some of the plants up and discard them, but I have to be careful where I discard them or they will transplant. The first and very prolific plants is yellow loosestrife as seen below.
The second prolific,' spreading everywhere' yellow bloom I have is Sundrops. a very pretty, showy yellow blossom.
This yellow sedum has a family story attached to it. Many years ago when my daughter, Riel was just a baby I was visiting in the community with my mother and her friend, Marjorie Atkinson gave me a small strawberry box filled with this plant. I put it under Riel's stroller to transport it back to my Mother's. After returning to my home Itransplanted it and it grew everywhere on, over and in between a rock wall we had there. Having sold our older home and moved to our present location, we brought the plant with us. It is slightly invasive too, and to transplant it. We just pull it up and throw it somewhere. It is a beautiful yellow accent in our yard.
I was delighted this morning to find this first yellow coneflower bloom opened. I love coneflowers and so do the butterflies. Soon our white and pink (purple) coneflowers will be in bloom, welcoming many butterflies to our yard. I love this summer phase of our garden blooms
These yellow lilies ( not fully open this early in the day ) are a highlight for me. I have forgotten their names, but they are very faithful, beautiful summer blooms.
This shrub picture has not come through very showy, but it is covered with small yellow blossoms, another forgotten name.
And here is the yellow that every garden needs: sunlight highlighting the wet grass, promising yet another warm, summer day.
And Hostas are a big feature in our garden. Their lovely yellow accented leaves are very attractive and delightful to one's eye.I hope you have enjoyed this morning walk with me in my garden. There will be many more posted throughout the summer.

Lots of sparks of yellow in your garden. Isn't it great to have plants with stories in the garden?
Good luck with the invasive stuff. I fight the buttercup wars every year. I'm not on the winning side!

These flowers will fade
and wither—yet in my heart
they live forever.

That yellow that you got from M. Atkinson is prolific stuff. I can remember it being everywhere at the other house like you said. So in the that first picture without your foot in the boot, are you standing on one foot, or are your toesies getting wet in the dewy grass?

You really do have a lot of yellow plants and they are very cheerful! I love the story about moving the sedum :-) I like your boots, too.

That pair of boots is really a fun one. I love the garden as well. think I want to own such garden in the future. I think this is one place that I will love to work the whole day! Green grass, nice trees and clean air and some nice hot chocolate after the day. Thanks for sharing this one.
