White-breasted Nuthatches

Its rather pleasant and uplifting to be able to post a species other than goldfinches as they have been our most commonly viewed species from our windows this winter. we have two old, tall maple trees alongside our driveway. These maples are a favourite dropping by or food shopping site for many birds. Its a treat to often find surprise, unexpected feathered visitors there. Yesterday a couple of white-breasted Nuthatches dropped by!!!!!. they were high in the trees and me and my camera were busy angling shots from my kitchen window focusing upward. These photos are a sampling of what I could get. I was pretty pleased considering I didn't see any goldfinch yellow in my downloads. These old maples have spectacular textured bark which shows up great in photos. welcome little Nuthatches!. Maybe you'll both drop by again and visit our feeders in bird Alley on the other side of my house. I wish everyone a wonderful day.

above:This is the usual Goldfinch yellow window viewing that our cat and I enjoy watching
each morning. today included!

Right now I would welcome almost any bird. I am missing the bird activity this winter. I do have the occasional Nuthatch stop by.

Too cute and twisted all around. Love it. Kitty looks very calm as he enjoys the view.
