The White-tailed Deer

to stay or to go
to trust or not to trust
filled more with curiosity than fear
it compromised
and ambled off slowly
through the brush
and into deeper woods

We have a game camera and will be putting it up soon and will try to capture some deer. I have seen them on our trail, but have been unable to photograph any yet. I have to wait till there is no threat of high water, as one of our trails where the deer travel is near the creek.
I love your discription.

A game camera sounds really intersting, hope you get some great results. We have a lot of deer in our area.

Beautiful picture, beautiful poem. Trust is a big issue with all wildlife when we intrude on their habitat and stalk them with our cameras :-) Sometimes I almost feel guilty for disturbing them, but that doesn't stop me from coming back with my camera again and again. Hoping they will become curious and not fearful :-)

Trust and respect, a couple of very important key factors when observing the wildlife and birds that we share our world with. I try never to intrude and the great thing about a telephoto lens is that you can watch from a distance. I often take a lot of pictures from my car for once I step out of it my designated subject is often gone, fleeing or flying.
