We have a lot of Common Redpolls visiting our feeder area each day. Now and then I see one that stands out from all of the others because of a difference in its appearance. This male Common Redpoll, which I saw this morning, was noticably outstanding as it appeared to have an excessive amount of red on its breast and feathers.
Beautiful! So much like the Purple finches and House finches. I had to get out my Roger Tory Peterson to look them up. I see they don't usually get as far south as I am. It always seems strange that what is "common" for one person never shows up elsewhere :-)

There are 63 covered bridges in the province of New Brunswick and I love finding them in those 'out of the way' places. I have photographed most all of them, with only about 4 or 5 yet to locate. I still have many photos yet to post on my New Brunswick Covered Bridges blog. If you would like to visit and see more pictures of Covered Bridges, just click on the picture above.
