Evening Primroses for melllow Yellow Monday

While out driving yesterday we drove past this clump of unusual shaped of Evening Primroses growing in a shallow ditch beside a church at crossroads near Dipper Harbour and Mace's Bay. The first glimpse I saw of them reminded me of windmills on a stick that we used to play with as kids. I asked my husband to turn and go back and when he asked "What are we looking for I replied, "flowers that look like windmills", and when we got back to the location and he saw them he knew what I had meant. I hope you can see the similarity also.

Raccoon for Camera Critters

Often I enjoy watching from our sunroom windows but not the day I opened the door and saw this raccoon on my deck! It had broken the plastic latch off our utilily box which I had kept on the deck with bird food in it and the raccoon had opened it and helped it self to the contents. Its behaviour was too bold and greedy for me to find any cuteness in this unwanted visitor. I haven't seen it this close lately ever since my husband ran after it threateningly with the driveway broom in his hand.

Green Frogs for Green Thursday

Appropiately called this is a Green Frog, This frog is mostly drab green in colour overall, however its upper jaw is bright green. A refreshing colour surprise when you see it sticking its head out of ponds or ditches where it is most commonly found in NewBrunswick.During my recent hospital stay one of the recreational therapies offered that I was able to partake in was painting ceramic forms. The day I saw this frog in its basic white I thought "green" and my mind drifted back to summer days and ponds. Today this green frog basks in the sun in my sunroom.note( this is not a real frog.)

e of the tiny creatures. Some butterflies were in the meadow like this Northern Crescent
on this Brown -eyed Susan below. One skipper hurrying to feed tangled its
proboscis over its antenna.

Among the thousands there were many picturesque sights.
Some as if crossing swords with their antennaeThe sun was as the wind is to falling leaves inviting activity dispersing beauty about the meadow

beauty was everywhere!Today is a sunny day , perhaps I'll return to the meadow again today.

A Rosy Maple Moth for Mellow Yellow Monday

The mellow yellow fluffy looking head of this Rosy Maple Moth fits well with the theme of this meme. I found this moth on the sidewalk when out for a walk yesterday. I have seen a lot of this species lately. we have a huge Silver Maple Tree on our property which I believe is a favourite of this moth and that is probably the key to their presence. I will add pictures if I find more throughout the day. This second photo is of one on my screen door taken a few years ago. The yellowish fluffy head is much more prominent in this photo below

MOOSE ALONG THE NORTH OROMOCTOFor Camera Critters

'

Having gone along for the ride while my husband was taking a load of cut branches , weeds and other garden clean up items to the village compost pile I asked to get off at the observation deck overlooking the river for I often see Eagles, Common Mergansers , Osprey and Spotted Sandpipers from there. All I saw this time was a huge dark spot along the river down shore. And I asked my husband upon his return, " Is that a horse or a Moose?"His reply was,"Its a Moose!"And after downloading the pictures I agree with him. I have never seen a Moose from that location before.
