There are 63 covered bridges in the province of New Brunswick and I love finding them in those 'out of the way' places. I have photographed most all of them, with only about 4 or 5 yet to locate. Great suggestion! I did an image search for juvenile Hooded Mergansers and found some photos that are good matches to those I posted today. I was concerned that a brown head didn't quite fit the Gadwall characteristics, but the Hoodies have both a brown head and orange on their bills. Also I have seen adult Hooded Mergansers pairs in the same pond at differt time this spring and summer and last year also. I really appreciate your input. Thanks so much.
